Vista Dog Park, located in Colorado Springs, CO 80927, is a well-loved spot for local dog owners and their furry friends. This park offers a friendly and welcoming environment where dogs can run off-leash, socialize, and exercise. Despite its modest size, the park is divided into two large areas to accommodate different needs. While not extensively landscaped, the park’s open space and community atmosphere make it a favorite destination for dog owners.
Fencing:
- The park is well-fenced, providing a safe environment for dogs to run off-leash without the risk of escaping.
Distractions:
- With plenty of tennis balls and Frisbees brought by dog owners, dogs have ample opportunities to engage in playful activities.
- Other dogs and their owners offer social interaction, which can be both an exciting and distracting element for visiting dogs.
On-leash or Off-leash:
- The park is designed for off-leash play, allowing dogs to roam freely and enjoy the open space.
Amenities:
- Two separate areas to keep dogs apart if needed.
- Bowls for water and water jugs are sometimes available, although the water fountain is not always in working order.
- Potty bags are usually provided, although it’s recommended to bring your own as the park sometimes runs out.
Pricing:
- The park is free to use, making it an accessible option for all dog owners in the area.
Cleanliness:
- The park is generally clean, thanks to the responsible dog owners who pick up after their pets. However, there are occasional issues with dog waste not being picked up by all visitors.
Hazards:
- The terrain is mostly dirt, which can become muddy after rain and may have patches of sand in high-traffic areas.
- Some dead trees present a minor risk.
Extras:
- There is no formal landscaping, so the park is quite natural in appearance.
- Tennis balls are often scattered around for dogs to play with.
Rules:
- Dog owners are expected to clean up after their pets to maintain the park’s cleanliness.
- Bringing your own water for dogs is advisable as the park’s water fountain is not always reliable.
Community Safety Rules:
- The local community is very friendly and supportive, with dog owners often helping each other out and ensuring a safe environment for all dogs.
- The park is particularly busy during the evenings and weekends, so it’s a good time to visit if you want your dog to socialize.

a year agoThis is where my dog met her "husband." We love taking her here to exercise, play and socialize with the other dogs. The reason I docked a star is because it really isn't landscaped or maintained much by anyone other than the fellow dog owners. So, it's essentially a sand pit in the higher traffic areas and a couple of the trees are dead. The water fountain was a nice addition, but it's not always in working order.

a year agoNice local park. There are two fairly large areas for a dog to run. So if you need a quieter play area its possible to use kne that is not being used as much. Bring a Frisbee or ball to throw but just be aware that other dogs might be interested in chasing them too. Please bring potty bags to pick up after the dogs as sometimes the park runs out.
