3 weeks agoI love this park. There are always dogs there when I arrive right at 4 pm on weekdays and more come after 5pm. I prefer when the grass side is open and you can’t trust the online schedule for when it will be, but the gravel side is great too and easy on my pups feet. There’s accessible waste bags, trash cans, water, and lots of other pups to play with.

4 months agoSandy City Dog park is the first dog park I have ever taken my dog to and he is twelve years old! So he has missed out on a lot of fun at dog parks so I decided I would change that and spice up his life by trying out this dog park. It’s gated so most people hang their dogs leashes up on the fence area before entering that way their animals can roam free. It gets hot but there is some shade and some picnic tables so people can meet up for doggy dates or picnics in the afternoon or evening. It stays open pretty late with the days being longer now that it is summer. It’s a wonderful dog park with lovely dogs who are all usually fun, friendly, and safe dogs for everyone to interact with.

7 months agoJust like others have said, the nice grassy taken care of area is blocked off. (Not sure why.) However, my little guy is 15lbs and has loved being with the big dogs. There have been a few scuffs with the bigger dogs, but people tend to break them up pretty quickly. Hannibal loves to go and make friends and run his heart out!! Yes, as of right now, the water is off, so remember to bring some! See you at the dog park! And remember to pick up after your pup!

a year agoGreat to come to, but small. There are two parts of this place that are blocked off by a fence in the middle for alternating usage. But there is plenty of seating and a small loop for walking, surrounding a large pit for dogs to chase balls or each other! Parking will sometimes be full, but give it 15 minutes and will open right up, and there is on-street parking. It’s also next to a trail that you can go for a small hike!

6 years agoQuite disappointed and I had been really looking forward to taking my dog (10lb Yorkie) here to check out the dog park section. However, I never actually was able to enter the fenced off area. There were 2 parts: one with grass and nicely landscapes and another that was grassless, completely bare (just, what looked like mud or yucky dirty), and full of large dogs. Well, the nice one was chained and locked so I couldn’t access it so the only one was the bare, dirty one...Furthermore, I didn’t feel comfortable allowing my dog to enter there and feel entirely he would be safe. He was outnumbered to begin with, but since a couple of yrs ago was attacked and nearly killed by a large dog (not at a dog park, but nonetheless...) so having him surrounded by 12 or more big dogs makes me nervous. I just don’t understand why the winter side is bare and unwelcoming and the 2nd (nice) area was closed? And what about small dogs?? The only part of the park that was ok was a large open field in that back of the park. I ended up just walking my dog around the main part and then was able to let him roam around to explore. I will not be returning to this park....
