a month agoI absolutely love this area. Dogs can run and play freely in a huge area. It spans at least a mile of fenced in fur baby paradise. If your in durango and have a furbaby....you have to check this spot out. Your furbaby will thankyou!!!!

a year agoIf my dogs had thumbs they would both give this place two thumbs up! They ran around by the river like it was the happiest day of their lives. Very clean, amazing views, and was a lot of fun to explore with the dogs off leash.

a year agoPSA - DON'T GIVE OTHER DOGS TREATS WITHOUT PERMISSION. This is my dog's favorite place! He thinks it's the best dog park in the world, and while he hasn't traveled that extensively, I agree with him. We've never seen a rattlesnake here (despite the scuttlebutt), but always find friendly dogs to play with, sticks to fetch, and water to drink and swim in. The city provides bags and a trash can so you can clean up after your dog... People are generally pretty good about picking up after their dogs - please help keep that trend going. If you're a visitor to Durango, and you don't clean up after your dog (or if you're a bad driver, poor tipper, or rude), you will have bad luck for at least 7 years and probably get radiation poisoning from the Smelter tailings that occupied the land on which the dog park sits for so long. Seriously, read the history of Smelter Mountain and Durango before you plan to visit; Radioactivity takes a loooong time to decay, and Smelter was "cleaned up" by 1980's EPA... What's YOUR level of trust in a 1980's underfunded agency?

3 months agoThis was a wonderful dog park. We visited the large dog area. It had nice wood chips down so not muddy after the recent heavy rain. It is shaded. It was nice and large, so dogs could run. There were two dog water fountains. Very enjoyable! Thanks San Antonio
