About the Dog Park

Brevard County Marina Dog Park, located at 501 Marina Rd, Titusville, FL, offers a scenic and spacious environment for both dogs and their owners. Nestled by the Indian River, this dog park features separate areas for small and large dogs, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all. The park is well-equipped with water stations, doggy bags, shaded areas, and seating for pet parents. With its proximity to the marina, playgrounds, and other recreational facilities, it’s a great spot for a day out with the family.

Fencing

  • Separate Areas: The park is divided into two sections, one for dogs under 25 lbs and another for larger dogs. This separation helps maintain safety and comfort for all pets.
  • Secure Gates: Double gates are installed at the entrances to prevent dogs from escaping, providing an added layer of security.
  • Maintenance: The fencing is well-maintained, ensuring that there are no gaps or damages that could compromise the safety of the dogs.

Distractions

  • Playground and Skate Park: Nearby playgrounds and skate parks might distract dogs, especially if they are sensitive to loud noises or fast movements.
  • Boats and Riverfront: The proximity to the marina and the sight of boats on the Indian River can be a distraction for dogs, particularly those with a strong prey drive.
  • Other Dogs: With a high number of visitors, there are often many dogs around, which can either be a source of excitement or stress, depending on the dog’s temperament.

Amenities

  • Water Stations: The park provides water hoses, buckets, and small pools for dogs to cool off and stay hydrated. The availability of clean water is a major plus.
  • Seating Areas: Plenty of seating options are available, including benches, chairs, and picnic tables, some of which are shaded by pavilions.
  • Doggy Bags: The park is equipped with doggy bags and disposal cans, although not all visitors use them as intended.
  • Shade Structures: The park has blue awnings or tented areas that provide much-needed shade, especially on sunny days.
  • Play Equipment: Kiddie pools and hoses are provided for dogs to splash and play in, enhancing their experience.

Pricing

  • Free Entry: The dog park is free to use, making it an accessible option for all dog owners in the area.
  • Parking: Free parking is available, including spaces near the marina and other park facilities, adding to the convenience.

Cleanliness

  • Well-Maintained Grounds: The park is generally clean and well-kept, with regular maintenance ensuring a pleasant environment.
  • Restrooms: The restrooms available on-site are relatively clean, providing convenience for visitors.
  • Waste Management: While doggy bags and disposal cans are provided, not all visitors pick up after their pets, which can lead to occasional messes.

Hazards

  • Lack of Shade: Although there are some shade structures, the park could benefit from more shaded areas, especially during hot summer days.
  • Dog Behavior: Some visitors have reported instances of aggressive behavior from other dogs or inappropriate actions by their owners, which could be a concern for some visitors.
  • Potential Escape: Despite the secure fencing, dogs with a strong urge to escape might still find ways out, especially if the gates are not properly closed by visitors.

Extras Rules

  • Dog Behavior: Owners are encouraged to monitor their dogs closely and intervene if any aggressive behavior occurs.
  • Leash Policy: Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the park to prevent any accidents or confrontations.
  • Cleaning Up: Visitors are expected to pick up after their dogs and dispose of waste in the provided bins to maintain cleanliness.

Community Safety Rules

  • Supervision: Dog owners must always supervise their pets, ensuring they play safely with others and do not cause harm.
  • Vaccinations: All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations to ensure the health and safety of all visitors.
  • Time Limits: During peak times, visitors may be asked to limit their stay to allow everyone a chance to enjoy the park.

Brevard County Marina Dog Park offers a delightful experience for both dogs and their owners, with its beautiful riverfront location, ample amenities, and well-maintained facilities. While there are a few areas for improvement, such as increasing shade and encouraging more responsible behavior from all visitors, the park remains a top choice for dog owners in the Titusville area. Whether you’re looking for a place for your dog to play or a scenic spot to relax, this dog park has something for everyone.

Nice size dog park, considering the of the entire park.. I love that there was the blue covered awnings or tented area to provide shade from the sun. Water and doggie bags were available. Overall Brevard County has a beautiful park system. This is on the Indian River which is ideal for fishing. Baseball field, and skater rinks were in the park. And seems like there is an upgrade for the child play area.

A beautiful place for the family. There are also children's playgrounds and a place to launch boats that I recommend

Irresponsible dog owners, this place is a haven for pitbulls. Pitbulls tried attacking my dog while the lazy fat owners just sat in a chair and watched. Don't bring your dogs here unless you prematurely want an urn with your dogs ashes or a trip to the vet.
