Fencing

  • Two Gated Areas: Brohard Paw Dog Park features two securely gated play areas, one for small dogs and another for large dogs. This ensures the safety of all dogs, allowing them to play freely without the risk of running away.
  • Double Gates: The park is equipped with double gates at the entrances, which helps prevent dogs from escaping when new visitors arrive.
  • Clear Signage: There is clear signage indicating the separate areas for small and large dogs, though the rinse-off hose is located in the large dog area, which might cause confusion.

Distractions

  • Natural Environment: The park’s beach setting provides a stimulating environment with sights and sounds of the ocean, birds, and other wildlife.
  • Other Dogs: Off-leash dogs running around can be a distraction, especially for young or less socialized pups. Owners report that the dogs are generally well-behaved and friendly.
  • People: The presence of other pet owners and beachgoers can also serve as a distraction, but it adds to the socialization experience for dogs.

Amenities

  • Restrooms: Clean and well-maintained restrooms are available near the parking lot.
  • Waste Stations: Numerous waste stations with garbage cans and litter bags make it easy for owners to clean up after their pets.
  • Rinse-Off Hose: A hose is provided in the large dog area for rinsing off salt water and sand.
  • Water Stations: Water fountains for both dogs and humans are available, ensuring everyone stays hydrated.

Pricing

  • Free Admission: Brohard Paw Dog Park is free to the public, making it an accessible and budget-friendly option for dog owners looking to enjoy a day out with their pets.

Cleanliness

  • Well-Maintained: The park and beach are noted for their cleanliness, with minimal litter and animal waste.
  • Regular Upkeep: Frequent maintenance ensures that the restrooms, play areas, and pathways remain clean and inviting.

Hazards

  • Deep Water: The water at the beach gets deep quickly, which can be a hazard for smaller dogs or those not comfortable with swimming.
  • No Seating: For disabled or elderly visitors, the lack of seating along the pathway to the beach can be challenging.

Extras

  • Beautiful Views: The park offers stunning views of the pier and the beach, enhancing the overall experience.
  • Dog-Friendly Community: The park’s community is known for being respectful and considerate, with dog owners keeping a close watch on their pets.

Rules and Community Safety

  • Leash-Free Areas: Dogs are allowed off-leash in designated areas, but owners must ensure their dogs are under control at all times.
  • Behavior: Only friendly and well-behaved dogs should be brought to the park, as there are many off-leash dogs interacting.
  • Waste Disposal: Owners are expected to clean up after their pets using the provided waste stations.

Great place for good exercise. Bring water for the dogs. Always clean up after your pets. They have bags and garbage cans there and a couple of hoses to rinse off after swimming. There’s a nice bathroom by the entrance.

Great day for a puppy's first beach day. There was ample gate security to ensure pet and owner safety. The walkways were sufficient, plenty of parking and signage. We also were happy to see plenty of garbage cans and litter bags available for cleaning up. Everyone was respectful and having a great time with their pets. The water was gorgeous and warm. Our pups loved being on beach patrol, but we have a way to go for full enjoyment of playing in the water. :-) Returning to the Brohard Paw Park is a must.

What a hidden gem! I had no idea the surrounding parks didn't allow dogs until I arrived with my pup in tow. So I found this dog park tucked in. I thought I would have to find somewhere else but this park and beach was PERFECTION! The people are so nice. I brought my 3lb toy Yorkie and was able to let her be off-leash on the beach. It was great! That's not always possible when dogs of all sizes are present but the owners of the dogs were all very considerate and had great control of their pups. The dogs are friendly, the restrooms are clean. The beaches and park is clean and not littered with garbage or animal waste. It's beautiful. This is a beautiful area with wonderful facilities and incredible people and the sweetest pups! I can't wait to come back!

My second visit here with Oscar and we will keep returning! 2 gated “play” areas for small or large dogs(20+), but the rinse off hose for the dogs is in the large dog area, and you also have to walk through it to get to the beach. Theres a sign posted no dogs over/under that weight, So thats confusing, but we just went through! The water gets deep pretty quickly for small, small dogs. Off leash pups running around everywhere, but the owners have been respectful! Great exposure for fur babies.

As a disabled senior citizen, walking from the parking lot to the beach was extremely difficult. on the pathway to the beach there is no place to sit. However, my service dog, loved every second of it. There were people out with floating nets, sifting shells. All the other dogs were well-behaved and under control by their owners.
